Head/brain pain

by birely, Jan 20, 2008 10:36PM
Had a root canal (right molar) less than a week ago. After the procedure I began to have excruciating pain in the tooth cavity/gum area with bursting pain in my head/brain. Dentist gave me 500 mg. Penicillin and it has done nothing to alleviate pain. Have tried everything from oxycontin to fentanyl patches but nothing works..the pain is chronic!!!
The doctor wants me to have the tooth pulled BUT could MRSA be the cause of the pain? I had two very bad bouts of MRSA in 2007 which required hospitalization (MRSA was in nose, upper lip & inside of lip, lower jaw AND unbelievable pain!!). I don't want to loose a tooth if the pain is caused by another bout of MRSA. Would a blood test show whether or not I have active MRSA?
. I don't know what to do or who to trust!!!
PLEASE ADVISE ASAP!!!! Carter

Hi, sorry to hear about your suffering. It could be a radiating pain probably form the molar. you need to see your dentist and neurophysician both who can render a better treatment. Make it soon.
Bye.
