Help decifering MRI result

My father has been having alot of problems lately were he gets pains on the right side of his face, cant't stay still for long and had recently had an MRI done with the following notes made on his resultsMultilevel severe disc degeneration at C3-4, C4-5, C5-6 and C6-7.  Spinal Stenosis with significant cord compression at C5-6 and C6-7.  Myelomalacia at the C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels.

The moderately severe narrowing of the right ncural foramen C6-7 is again noted.

Can help in assisting what all this means?
Thanks
Trying to figure what the best next step is.  My father is also 71 years old and type 2 diabetic

Hi, this indicates degeneration of cervical vertebrae leading to compression of spinal cord and the nerves related with it.

Through the hole in vertebrae spinal cord descends down, degeneration leads to formation of bony outgrowths which compresses the cord and associated nerves.
