Help!

I'm a 31 year old female & about 4-5 months ago I started having some issues.  In November I noticed at night that I could hear my heart beating and/or a whooshing sound in my ears.  Shortly thereafter I woke up one morning with the world's worst stiff neck, as if I slept wrong.  Thought it would go away but hasn't.  I've had horrible headaches, ear pain, pins & needles down my right arm into my thumb/pointer finger, I feel a little "off" balance but not dizzy.  The most recent symptoms are muscle twitching everywhere (calves, back, feet, eye, etc) on & off for about the last month, but mainly in my calf and tricep just on the right side of my body.  I also get the whooshing sound in my ears if I bend down to pick something up.

I was finally able to get in to see an orthopedic, who performed an x-ray.  X-ray showed what looks like a bone spur on C5 (couldn't get a clear enough picture of C6 & C7) so they sent me for a MRI of my neck yesterday.  Could all of my symptoms be from my neck issues?  I've had myself in a panic that it's a fatal disease.  I appreciate your feedback!  Thank you!

Ok, so upon further evaluation and a c-spine MRI, it was found that I have an impressive herniated disc (C5/C6) which is compressing the nerve.

I've gone to the ENT & had my ears looked at.  All was fine.  I even had a MRI of my head.  Again all was normal.

I had blood work done too back in November to see if I had thyroid issues (among other things) and the only thing that came back was my vitamin D being low.

The pins and needles running down your right arm into my thumb/pointer finger is related to the neck issue.  The bone spur is pressing on the nerves that are sending down these signals.

The whooshing sound that you are experiencing is the blood rushing and you feeling off balance is related to the neck problem too.

Although you can experience headaches from a bad neck, as you are also having ear pains, I would advise you to see your doctor to check your ears.  Blocked up ears can cause the symptoms your describe, as well as an infection in the ear which can also cause feelings of "off balance", especially if the infection is in the inner ear which controls the sense of balance.

You also need to let your doctor know about the muscle twitching and especially in your calf .

Best wishes
