Hip pain at night

I have severe dull, achy right hip pain at night when lying down that radiates down the side of my leg. It hurts when I lie on either side, but gets a little better if I lie on my back or stomach. It doesn't hurt much during the day. It is getting worse though. This has been going on for at least three months. I will be calling the doctor this week. What could it be?? It's not red or swollen.

Did you find out the cause of your pain? I have exactly the same thing and its getting much worse. It wakes me every hour during the night so is now affecting my health in general.
