Dull Coming & Going Head Pain

Hello....I am a 39 year old female with a dull head pain that comes and goes.  It isn't painful just annoying.  I have had this pain for a whole day now.  It comes for a second or two and goes away and then comes back again seconds or minute later.  I had this pain once before about 6 months ago.  Lasted for a half a day, took some Advil and the next morning I was fine.  This morning I woke up and the coming and going pain is still there.  Went to the doctor today and she recommended a CT Scan without the dye which I will have done on Friday.  She thinks I am fine but didn't say what would be causing the pain.  She checked my reflexes and everything is normal.  I am concerned it could be a tumor but the doctor doesn't really think it could be a tumor.  I don't have any other symptoms with this pain.  Just wondering if there is anyone out there with the same symptoms.  Thanks!

Doesn't sound alarming to me either... Maybe sinus related or tension.
