These patients commonly "self-splint" and
progressively lose range of motion. The drill
is intermittant axial traction and range of motion
exercises through the limits of pain for.the
cervical nerve entrapment. Special exercises
are helpful for the Lumbar nerve entrapment
with transdermal lidocaine patches, DSMO,
a TENS device and ocasional use of anti
inflamatories.

Clearly, numbness or.pain in the forearms
suggests cervical nerve entrapment. Juxtaposed
with lumbar nerve entrapment suggests
systemic degenerative spinal disease. An MRI
of the cervical area is indicated. Subluxation
pain often develops months to years after
an accident.
