I have questions about 4 level anterior cervical disk discectomy and fusion, post-op

I'm having anterior cervical disk discectomy and fusion C3-C7 next month. Had an MRI recently for neck ache and intermittent numb tingly left arm. I was immediately sent to a neuro surgeon, and was scheduled for surgery as soon as he could get me in his schedule. NS will remove the discs and replace with "cages", plastic/cadaver bone, and plate over the 5 vertebrae. Hes concerned the bottom screws may not hold. The discs are compressing my spinal cord and nerves, and my neck apparently curves backward instead of forward.  I don't know what to expect. Surgeon says it's rare to need to fuse more than 1-3 vertebrae. Will I be able to move my neck at all? Do I sleep in a recliner or bed (I have to use a step stool to get into bed)? Will it be easier to get in and out of a recliner vs a tall temperpedic bed? Are there any tips for the first few days? I'd appreciate any positive suggestions!
