Please forgive me ahead of time for my long version of whats happening to me. I want you to fully understand so I can get the best advice. I am 30 years old. At the beginning of 2012 I had what I thought was a heart attack but Doc says maybe anxiety. I go to Therapist (for unrelated topic to my issues) and have him assets me for what the Doctor says and he says i's Not Anxiety related.
I have No insurance so I leave it alone until it happens again and worse.I have more episodes of all my muscles contracting like huge charley horses. I have painless muscle (Eye,Legs,Arms not all at once but could last a few days to a few hours) twitching but oh so agony I am unable to drive in middle of a very busy highway. EMSA comes and says possible Anxiety (word of advice never tell anyone that you have a minor anxiety issues when you were little because that's what they assume and if you know something is diffidently wrong do not ignore it. I learned this later.) Anyways, I do not want to go to E.R. again so I go home and after a few hours my whole body muscle contractions goes away but pain stays. I go to another Therapist she also says Not Anxiety or panic attacks. So I have doctor and Paramedic say Anxiety. I am confused and leave it alone because let them tell me I am now crazy. I go back to regular Therapist he says not Anxiety or Panic Attacks again. I leave the issue alone and hope this doesn't happen again.
The Attacks don't go away but get worse and the pain becomes unbearable ( I have an extremely high pain tolerance) No Insurance still so I hold off on being seen by another Doctor. Attacks worsen over time more frequent harder and not always the same huge muscle and joint lock up. I go to a Doctor and she rudely says that because I have no insurance there are a few things she can do for me and that depends on how much money I have to spend. She prescribed me Zoloft for a trial this did nothing for what was happening. This is where I decided to stop telling me about my childhood anxiety or that another Doctor suggested it more recently.
I might feel the attacks coming and sometimes I find myself on the floor in screaming agony while I am unable to move. My body seems weaker and I have a pain in left breast now that won't go away but for a short period of time.
My husband couldn't take it anymore and took me to hospital because it happened at my job.
3 days in hospital getting different test done. No M.S. MRI says no seizures either. No Stroke. CAT Scan shows no bleeding. No anemia. No Heart Attack. Low Blood Pressure 95/53 Low T3 and T4 levels so Thyroid med for 30 days then need to retest (I have not got this done yet). I had all blood count good and white cells looked good. magnesium and potassium levels good. no deficiencies that they could see. Was on a Blood thinner and morphine (got sick I asked for them to take me off of it) ( i'd rather dealt with the pain) but they gave me hydrocodone for pain later and sent me home with Baclofen for muscle contractions (cramping) .
When at the hospital Nuro said could be rare autoimmune disease or Fibro (he leaned more toward Fibro in the end I think) possible but would need a better work up outside hospital.
Another M.D said Non epileptic seizures but I am awake and aware which I looked into which PNES it is just like a seizure with out the epilepsy of the brain.
Another M.D said I moved really funny for my age and thought I was interesting case. I find nothing about what I am going through that interesting though.
I have pain in my ankle and left side from time to time but my left breast area, arm and hand has been affected more each time (I think I might of pinched a nerve when I had an episode more recently leaving my arm in constant pain).
As I said I will sometimes know when this is coming either by days or a few moments and sometimes I will know of nothing and could be sitting on the couch with no pain and laughing away or doing nothing then boom. I'm curled up neck back feet legs hands everything cramped up and screaming and crying from being in extreme pain. I sleep in shifts of maybe every 4 to 5 hours at night. I take over the counter sleep aid but it does not help. I feel very tired all the time (I think because of the odd sleep). I feel sluggish and slow to think and speak now when I was much sharper a year ago. I forget where I am at in conversations at times and become agitated more easily.
I am not manic depressed or depressed either been tested and clear. I do feel out of control of my body and mind lately but I still think clearly just a little slower then usual at times not all the time too.
Please help. I have tried being as detailed as possible so please forgive the long version on of my story. I am getting insurance but they will not cover past related issues seen upon in the last 2 years. Leaves me kinda of screwed (since I think this is and was my problem when I was seen prior) but any suggestions so I can lower my cost in any way would help. Thank you ahead of time.
