I need help!

My son is 11 years old. Until 3 months ago he was a happy healthy, energetic child. Now he is miserable he hasnt been in school for almost 2 months! I have seen dr afater dr, and none seem to be able to help us. He complains of horrible tummy aches, they are in the upper abd, right above the pancreas, and liver. He gets dizzy, headaches, irritability, fatigue, he is just miserable. On a side note, he did have his gallbladder removed when he was 8. He had 2 stones. We just saw a neurologist, and he thinks it might be basilar or abdominal migranes. he has had a cat scan, (head and abdomen)ultrasound, upper GI, and numerous blood tests. The cat scan showed a little fatty infultraion in his liver, but nothing else has come up. Everything else is fine. He is in pain every min. of every day. He has always been a very slim child. 3 months ago he weighed 63 pounds, and was in 10% for weight, and 50% for height. yesterday he weighed 77 pounds!!! that puts him in the 50% for weight. the dr is not concerened.  It kills me every day to see him just sitting in a chair. He doesnt want to play or move. it is breaking my heart. I need to be able to help him. We have tried, levsin, motrin, tylenol, Tylenol 2, bental, tums, rolaids, gas medicine, and now an antihistimine. Does anyone have any idea or suggestions? I sure wish the tv show House was real, maybe then I could get some answers. I feel like he is slipping away from me, and i am devistated I cant help him. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks so much in advance. kjsmoma

He needs to see a gastroenterologist.  See can you go to one at a large teaching hospital in your state, and perhaps have your son admitted, his records forwarded, and let them do a whole new workup on him.  Also, it wouldn't hurt to let him talk to a child psychiatrist for a little while, keep that situation as low-key for him as you can, just to make sure something oddball isn't going on at school.  But he needs to go to a big hospital.

I really feel for you. I have three sons and I can not emagian what your going through. I've always said it's eaiser if I'am sick than them being sick! I don't knoe that I can help you but have you done research on all his symptoms? Mabey that would lead you in the right direction. Have you tried the symptoms checker where you type in all the symptoms than it tells you what it could or may be? You probly have all ready done thees things so i'am sorry if this is of know help to you. Keep your post up though someone may be able to give you some insight on your siuation. I will keep you and your son in my prayers. LEE
