Internal tic's

by Savege, Nov 18, 2007 12:34PM
Hi There, My fiance as not been diagnoised with any kind of Tic disorder. However the more I read on the symptoms I feel this may be a possiblity. He has been battling internal pain. He said it feels muscular. It seems to be quite intense for certain periods of time and then it sometimes changes spots. He has every kind of test under the sun for cancer, ulcers ect. Everything has come back fine. However the internal pain has been coming and going for more then 2 years. No doctor or specialist as been able to pin point the problem. However the pain is still consitent. He does tic however I always thought it was nervous energy. Can you tell me if one would have internal pain if they had a tic disorder or tauretts?
Thanks

Hello.

For Tourette's or tic disorder to manifest, there has to be a visible tic !

I am not quite sure if he is feeling the 'internal' pain or a tic ! Is it a twitch that he feels or just a pain in the muscle.

In this case , was an EMG done to see if there is any muscle problem ?

Regards

Hello.

EMG is Electromyography. Electrical impulses are sent to the muscles and their response is noted.

This test distinguishes muscle problems from a nerve problem.
