Julie

Also I forgot to mention that I am having some temperature regulation problems.  I sweat excessively, to the point that my hair is drenched in a matter of minutes, just from being in a room that has no fan, walking from truck to the house.  Any type of exertion or changes in my own temperature zone.  My family jokes that I keep our home like the Artic zone, but that is the only way I can tolerate it.  I very seldom get cold, and when I do, it doesn't last long.  I wonder if  it has anything to do with my thyroid.  I've read that that also causes unexplained weight gain.  What do you think?

Julie- I get that too (although I am either too cold all the time or too hot- never really get to be comfortable- innapropriatew Full body clammy sweat- drenching night sweats. Just feels like running a low grade fever all the time, but tempurature is normal- Hormones check out fine etc. I've had a recent diagnosis of peripheral nueropathy and one doc said the temperature regulation problem could be a result- although I don't find much info about that online.

As you probably know, you must be you own advocate for a diagnosis and treatment. It is possible it is fibromyalgia, but it is wise to rule out other possibilites. It is wise to keep seeking answers.
You may want to consider preparing a timeline of the inital symptoms and its course up to date. It may help you when you go to see a neurologist or rheumotologist.

If you want to share with others who have fibromyalgia, you can check with this site on medhelp, search for the fibromyalgia forums... if you mean a prayer support group, i have not searched for one online, maybe someone else may know of one... but i will gladly keep you in my prayers.

Don't give up, keep the faith.
God Bless,
Frann

I had my hormone level checked before all this started and they were normal.  I am assuming that because of the back injury, they haven't tested any of the others.  The doctor told me that fibromyalgia is a weeding out process.  I would greatly appreciate the prayers.  Do you know of any online support groups for this?

I am so sorry for all you are going through.

I am also an RN, who has had an awful year of neurological symptoms and on medical leave. I am not sure I will be able to return to my position either and it has been a difficult reality check.

Have you been tested for lyme disease, thyroid disease or have your hormone levels checked?? That would be a good start.

It is difficult to continually be in pain, and to not have an answer.

I will keep you in my prayers.

God bless,
Frann
