Looking for Answer to the Big Picture

Looking for Answer to the Big Picture

For 3yrs I had controlled HT w/Lisinopril/HCTZ 20/25 & Norvasc 5mg. I was a very healthy 44yo Fe, 4'10 110lbs. In Jan 07 my Ins Co said they wanted me to switch from Norvasc to Lotrel because they were "the same & it was cheaper". My Dr kept me on the Lisin/HCTZ & added Lotrel 5/40. 12 days later while out watching the SuperBowl I went from being totally fine, to vomiting wetting my pants & collapsing. At the ER my BP was 56/48. I was given 2ltr LRS a panel which showed very unhappy kidneys & after 3hrs w/my BP up to a whopping 80/54, I was given a shot of Toradol & Phenagram, told I was overmedicated & sent on my way. Things haven't been the same since. I tried to go back to "the Dr", but he wouldn't see me & I was cancelled by my Ins Co so noone wanted to see me.

W/in a few days I was having speech, memory & cognitive issues which joined my daily companions Chronic Migraine & Nasty Nausea. These problems were soon joined by intermittant rt side tremors & dx of Dysautonomia (no temp, BP, HR control, awareness of hunger or fullness), dystonia, RSD, vasal vagosyncope, & orbastatic hypotension; my ACTH & Cortisol run low, my thyroid sleeps most the time as do I, 12-14hrs/day & have gained 40lbs :(,  My menses stopped for 14mn, came back w/a vengance, went away again but now I will intermitantly bleed & my estrogen is undetectable whilst FSH, Prolactin, & LH are up & down, & AST is creeping up. I have progressive vision loss, photophobia, an unequal pupil in the rt eye & blephorspasm; I have tachacardia, aortic insufficiency, sleep & GI issues. I also crave cottage cheese, vinegar, lemon juice & hot sauce. I also have an extreme sensitivity to meds so currently I take Lisinopril 10mg SID, Propranolol 20mg BID,  Prevacid SID , Zofran 4mg PRN, & Naproxin 500mg SID.

All the docs say just an odd coincidence. I went from 200. Depending whom I'm visiting they will only look at their "specialty", not the big picture. Neuro says most problems are "in my head" somatoform disorder, PTSD sees no need for any further visits & thinks I should go to the NIH. Neuro-Op says just go away, like to Mayo in Rochester. Endo says "hope its not your Hypothalmus, lets just wait & see." My PCP just keeps trying to keep what he can under control.

An MRI w/Cont 2+yrs ago showed some frontal lobe shrinkage. Any test suggestions or ambitious med student that is curious.  Any suggestions, comments, theories, jokes or even a guess on what next would be greatly appreciated.
