Lower left side back pain

I have been experiencing lower left pain in my back for about six weeks now. I experienced it for about two weeks before I came down with the flu. While having the flu and coughing it got worse. I have been over the flu for about 2 weeks now and Iam still experiencing pain when I move. It is hard for me to sit down and stand up. It is painful to get up and down and basiclly move. I went to the doctor and told him this while I had the flu and he said I probably pulled a muscle while coughing. It keeps me up at night because I can't get to a position that is not causing it to hurt. It is kinda a burning chronic pain. Any advice would be helpful. I am going to go to the doctor tomorrow to see if they can XRay it. I don't have insurance so I can't go and have alot of things done to find out the problem. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks!!
