I had an MRI done on my neck to check if its gotten worse from the last one and while I had degen disk, and mild stenosis in a couple vert, these results have a lot more in them. I'll paste them from my chart if that helps. I'm wondering if this is something I should be getting checked more or if this is normal for someone in there 40's?
A multiplanar, multisequence MR examination of the cervical
spine was performed. Comparison is made to an exam dated
10/18/2013.
Alignment and marrow signal are normal.
C2-C3: There is uncovertebral hypertrophy on the left, new
from the previous study. This contributes to minimal
foraminal crowding on the left.
C3-C4: Facet and uncovertebral hypertrophy lead to severe
foraminal narrowing on the left and mild narrowing on the
right, increased from the previous study.
C4-C5: Ventral ridging marginates the cord. Uncovertebral
hypertrophy causes moderate to severe bilateral foraminal
narrowing, increased from the prior exam.
C5-C6: Ventral ridging mildly narrows the canal.
Uncovertebral hypertrophy results in severe bilateral
foraminal narrowing, increased from the prior exam.
C6-C7: Uncinate hypertrophy on the right results in severe
foraminal narrowing. There may be a small protrusion of disc
material beyond osteophyte. There is moderate foraminal
narrowing on the left. Overall, narrowing is increased from
the prior exam.
C7-T1: There is a broad-based, shallow posterior disc
protrusion. This marginates but does not significantly
deform the cord. There is no significant foraminal
narrowing.
Multilevel degenerative disc disease and facet
arthropathy with associated severe foraminal narrowing,
increased from the prior exam.
