I got worse after RFA in 2007 and got to the point of using a walker. I had back surgery 4 months later. I would not every suggest anyone have this. I pray you fair better
I had RFA for a herniated disc in my neck that was pinching nerves and caused loss of use to RT hand and arm, and no mobility to neck.
I had to undergo Physical Therapy and nerve blocks and steroid injections before the RFA. When I had the RFA proceedure, It really wasnt that bad afterwards. But, about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks later I had quite severe sensitivity and pain in my upper back. This lasted about 2 weeks, then got better.
NOBODY told me it would first get worse then better. Everywhere I went for help, they told me to ask my pain management doc. I finally was told quite a while later that it was because of the RFA.
But, those symptoms have ceased, and I actually numb in the lower neck and back area. It was actually quite helpful--after the effects of the RFA.
I am not sure why you had it done, but it could be you are experiencing after effects of the RFA as I did, just a different area.
It did last a few weeks, and felt quite severe, then it tapered off.
Hang in there, hope you find relief!!
