MRI sedation with Propofol

MRI sedation with Propofol

I would like to get opinions professional and/or anyone else who has knowledge/experience with this drug.
My 22 month old son will have intraveneous sedation with this drug for an MRI scan. I have done some internet research and have found conflicting opinions about the safety of the drug in pediatric use. There is mention of complications such as Acidosis (metabolic and respiratory) as well as Hypoxaemia. My child has no underlying respiratory or metabolic problems (that we know of). The radiology department at the childrens hospital where my son will have the procedure assures me that if any complications do arise, my son would recover quickly as soon as the drug is stopped. I would like to hear the opinion of a doctor or person who has had their child sedated with this particular drug. Thanks for your help.
