MRI without contrast

Hello,

I posted last week regarding MS concerns due to ongoing tingling that comes and goes.
I am 25 year old female no other health concerns.
The tingling came on very suddenly for me beginning in November...I woke up with tingling hands in the middle of the night...within 24 hours it was completely gone.
A week went by with no tingling then one day I woke up with an odd feeling in my arm. For the next month I had on And off tingling in various parts of my body that never lasted more than a few hours at a time.
I had bloodwork done by my PCP which all returned normal. I was referred to a neuro...she did not believe my symptoms sounded MS related due to the "fleeting" nature of the tingling and the fact it traveled throughout my  body but could tell I was very nervous. She ordered an MRI of brain and C-Spine without contract...the results were normal.

My question is...can I accept that this is not MS or was the MRI not thorough enough because it was done without contrast? I'm so nervous about all of this. The tingling is very subtle and comes and goes.

Thank you for responding and thank you for the useful link...I appreciate the help.

I'm nervous that the MRI was given to early...one month after I began experiencing tingling sensations. The neuro didn't think the MRI was necessary but ordered it to reassure me it was not MS...she ordered a brain and CSpine  MRI without contrast. The results of the MRI were normal.

The tingling faded but has now come back, it's subtle and kind of travels throughout my body. I admit I do have anxiety regarding all of this and am constantly checking in with my body...I just want to know everything is ok...I really want to think about starting a family in the near future and my mind is now so full of worry regarding MS.

Thank you again...

Yes you can trust the results, but as with anything nothing is 100% perfect. I will add a link at the end for a article that has been posted on medhelp that talks about MS with negative MRI finding. This is by no means to say you have or don't have MS. I am only trying to provide you with the information you are asking for. Talk with your neurologist about any concerns you may have.
