Magnetic Resource Imaging Results

Can someone please help me understand my MRI results a little better? The results I received are as follows.  There are solitary, nonspecific, sub 3mm lacunar foci of hyperintensity on the T2-weighted and flair sequences in the right posterior frontal and left anterior parietal subcortial white matter consistent with gliosis of unknown etiology. Diagnostic possiblities include mild small vessel ischemic disease, lyme disease and early demyelinating disease. Can someone please tell me what this could possibly mean?
Thank you,

Shagalina:
I had this too, described as an "unidentified bright spot."
It is like a scar, following an injury to the nerve at that spot.
If you google for gliosis, you will get a better description.

I was later diagnosed with Lyme Disease.

Wishing you the best,
Carol

Could also be Multiple Sclerosis.  I would definately consult with your Dr. about your results and very soon.  Early demyleinating disease could be several different diagnoses.  When do you have your next appt. with your Dr.  Keep us posted please on what you are finally diagnosed with. GOOD LUCK to you!
