Middle ear infection with facial numbness

Hello,  I am a 48 year old woman.
I had a cold for a week followed by a middle ear infection and outter ear infection on my left side.
I was on antibiotics for 10 days.
The middle ear infection has not given me any pain at all.  When it first came on I had a lot of pressure under my left ear.  That has subsided but now I have numbness all around my ear.  It feels better at times - usually after some ibuprofen - but has been going on now for over a month.
I have had some pain in my head and in the back of my neck.  Ocassionally I feel tingling in other parts of my body like my arms and legs and fingers.  All of that came on at the same time.

I saw my dr. at the beginning of all of this but have not been back yet.  I am considering making an appointment this week.  Any ideas as to what i going on?  Has anyone else experienced this?
