Muscle pain subsides after rhinitis is cleared up

The diagnoses I have is:
PVFS, Fibromyalga
Rhinitis

My question is as follows:
I am trying to find the correlation for the following:

When I wake up I sometimes I suffer from rhinitis on the left side of my face. Almost always in combination I feel pain in the musculus trapezius, where it appears that the attachments of the muscle at the base of the neck and possibly the spine are the main painful points. Where the pain at the base of the neck is the most painful. Other symptoms are headache, and the area around the left eye socket hurting.

Tightening of muscles in scalp and body (diagnosed fibromyalga). And it could be that the musculus trapezius is pulling at the connection points because of the tightening of the muscles.

Mucus in nose thick and cloudy.

The pain and rhinitis "attacks" can occur during the day as well. However, can't ever remember having them in the evening. I usually feel better and more clear at night, and have to be careful not to turn my night and day rhytme around to avoid living with the pain.

Here is the weird part for me, and doctors and I haven't been able to find the cause yet. So I am hoping someone here can point me in the right way. When I clear the rhinitis (through steaming (with homeopathic medication)) the muscle ache in the musculus trapezius stops and I feel a lot better. The "fatigue" subsides a bit to a lot, and I basically feel like nothing has ever happened, however I am still not feeling optimal. The pain when it does bother me is fairly extreme (comparable to tooth ache) I used to sport reguraly, so have quite a mucle build up could this possibly explain the intensity of the pain? Steaming  seems to be the most effective method untill now.

Does anyone know why the steaming clears the pain anyway?

I just thought of this today, but could it be that whatever is causing the symptoms is being cleared out to the nose, but that it is too thick to be cleared out, and that as along as this is in my body, that my body is reacting to it and hence causing the pain. Steaming or  menthol clears it because it thins the mucus.

Are there are any know relevant cases where something similar is occuring?
Possibly: test the mucus for whatever is causing it. But what?

Blood works show normal, no diabetes, no lyme. Normal heart and pulse. One time low blood pressure, but otherwise always normal.  No common allergies found. Antibiotics seem to work, but this is unconfirmed, as it possibly appears to be food related as well. Two antibiotic cures were giving initially for the Rhinitis.  There have after the antibiotic cure I have felt 100% better. However these periods lasted approximately a couple of weeks/ months, and still testing the food relation.  And to just blindly keep treating with antibiotics, rather have knowing what is causing it, to avoid antibiotic immunity.

The symptoms are getting worse over the years. Noticable symptoms started about 5 years ago around the same time as a burst appendix surgery. It is unknow if there is a relation. Symptoms appear to have started with itching, pain in one point in the scalp. First rhinitis started about 8 months later. Repeat attacks vary in time, and repetition. After the increase of pain complaints further research led to PVFS, candidas and fibromyalga.

In wooded areas I seem to have more pain and less fatigue. While near the shore less pain and more fatigue. (Don't ask me why)

We are still searching and testing for the causes of the symptoms, and any relevant information would be very helpful.

If more information is needed please let me know.

P.s.

The rhinitis only takes place in the left nostril. The same goes for the musculus trapezius pain.

Thank you for your reply. :-)

It doesn't appear like I have any of the symptoms, however because it could take place in the night, I have passed it along just in case.

Yeah what I need to figure out it is:

What causes the white "cloudy" nose slime?
Why does it possibly (appear to) react to antibiotics and garlic?
What is the correlation with the muscle tightening/ pain?
Why is fatigue part of it? ( I can imagine if my immune system is fighting something, this could cause the fatigue, on the other hand there is no fever.)

Personally I think it is possibly something like an allergy, bacterial infection or virus.

Allergy: it doesn't show the signs of a classical allergy. It is not seasonal. It might be food related. And it appears to happen more with sugary foods and E numbers (uncomfirmed).

Could it be some kind of bacterial infection in the intestine? As the complaints started after the appendectomy. After surgery I was very weak, so something could have gotten in there. However it seems, kind of odd, that my body has such a difficult time getting rid of it. I.o.w. why would it dissapear and reappear. Apparently whatever it is my body is able to get rid of it sufficiently enough to make the complaints less. Finding what the controlling factors are would be a step in the right direction. Food seems to somehow affect it.  However I am not aware of any food allergies prior to the surgery period, however, I also read that allergies can get worse with age (If I remember correctly)

We have been able to rule out a lot of stuff and we keep coming to the same area of CFS/ME/PVS. However at which point it is a dead end because we can't find the causing factor, yet.   I have been looked at by various doctors and hospitals, and their perserverance has been wonderful. We just need to find the missing link(s) to  the cause and correlation of the physical symptoms. Take the rhinits, for example, we know it is there, but as to what is causing it, can be any number of things.

Please let me know if any more information is needed.

When looking for a needle in a haystack; get out the metal detector. :-)

You may want to just look into the thought of investigating acid reflux. My dad was sick for years with rhinitis and everyone had different answers for him. Finally he went into yet another dr's office, nearly ready to give up, and the dr diagnosed it without barely looking at him juest because he'd seen it before. Now my dad takes daily acid controllers and avoids spicy and acid food and no more problems. :)

Unfortunately I can't seem to figure out how to edit the post.

"After the increase of pain complaints further research led to PVFS, candidas and fibromyalga."

Should be: Medical research showed PVFS and fibromyalga. Candidas was through personal research. It has been tested and waiting for the results.
