Muscle rigidity and tremors

Muscle rigidity and tremors

My 92 yo grandmother suffered a ruptured aneurysm 14 yrs ago and has since been bedridden with L sided hemiplegia.  She started having partial seizures a yr ago that have been eradicated with Keppra.  She has always had a right sided tremor to her right arm, but recently, has developed more muscle rigidity.  For instance, her right arm is bent at the elbow so that her hand is at about the level of her heart.  Secondly, her hand is bent downward and her hand is closed very tight.  When I try to straighten her arm, there is a twitching movement to her arm and it is difficult to straigten her arm because it is so "tight".  Also, it seems that her speech is different, in that it is difficult for her to get her words out because she repeats syllables.  Could Baclofen help this?  Thanks.

Hi Rn,
How is your mother feeling now?
I think she has symptoms suggestive of Parkinson's disease.
Symptoms like her tremors being always there even at rest with rigidity. Voice is hypo phonic and poorly modulated.
I think you should consult neurologist at earliest and decide further course of action.
Bye.
