Muscle twitches and shakiness

I am an 18 year old male and lately I have noticed that i get muscle twitches that will last a few minutes. I used to get the occasional twitch but now they happen almost on a regular basis.  Also, I have noticed that my steadiness in my hands has gotten much worse to a point where I can barely hold a pen sometimes while other times i am perfectly fine. I always had steady hands and over the past year and a half i have noticed a decline in steadiness. I find it very wierd that I seem to be fine one minute and the next I get twitches and shakiness. I've noticed both the steadiness and the muscle twiches within the last year or two and i am conscerned because they seem to be getting worse. What should I do? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. Causes of generalized muscle twitches are acid base imbalance in the body, low sodium, calcium and vit D deficiency, motor neuron disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, hypoparathyroidism, muscular dystrophies, spinal muscular atrophy, etc.
Treatment may involve magnesium replacement since this could be an important cause of fasciculations in the form of nuts, almonds and bananas. Reducing stress and anxiety is another useful treatment. Consult a neurologist for further assistance. Take care.

Hi,
Have you discussed these symptoms with your doctor? You may need to see a neurologist. The symptoms you described are not normal and I would definitely have them checked out. Don't leave anything out because you think it sounds crazy or not important.
Let us now what happens.
Take Care,
