My neck problem began nearly one year ago with severe weakness and pain. The left shoulder and arm suffered the same symptoms. I had mild nausea from about November to February. Then, at the beginning of this year, I had also tremor and some other symptoms. The symptoms then appeared every now and then. I also have chronic sinusitis.
From August till now (late October) the neck weakness has become worse. It is in every day, usually in afternoon or evening, often like an attack. I also have muscle twitches. My neurologist said that it might be TIA. Therefore I 'll have a scanning of the jugular arteries in next week. I have got OMT physiotherapy but it does not help. Today I began to take Dolan.
I have hypothyroidism (treated with Thyroid Erfa) and hyperparathyroidism (no treatment) and dysautonomia. I am taking atenolol and Multaq for my blood pressure and heart rhythm problems (atrial fibrillation in 2010). I have a mild oestrogen treatment (63 years old).
One Doctor suspectes Multaq. Could it cause the neck symptoms? My dose is very low, 200 mg, whereas the normal dose is 2x400 mg. Or could the cause be thyroid under-, overmedication, hypercalcemia, sinusitis, myasthenia gravis, vasculitis, polymyalgia? Myasthenia, vasculitis and polymyalgia, in addition to TIA, have been mentioned by Doctors as possible causes.
