Nerve Demylination

Hi everyone. I posted awhile ago saying i am in my early 20's, fit, but when i was 18 i had atrophy in my left handover a 6 month period. No pain, no loss of sensation e.t.c I have atrophy in the base of my left thumb and near my 4th and 5th fingers. Nerve Conduction tests were normal and immunoglobulins were given to me and didn't work. All blood tests came back negative. All levels are normal in my body.

In other words they still don't know what is wrong. But said since it hasn't deteriorated for 3 years, whatever was that "attacked" my brachial plexus roots is now gone.

My nerves have basically demylinated distally in my left hand. My question is can you advice me of websites e.t.c that show abit about research for these type disorders. Many thanks and sorry for rambling lol

Hey there. It kind of sounds like Multiple Sclerosis, but that is just in the brain and spinal cord. I myself have MS and I am now 20. IF the docs you went to don't know what it is, ask them for a refferal to somewhere else. It isn't rude, its your health, you can tell them that you like them but you want to get to the bottom of the problem.

I am in the process of this. MS has been ruled out. I don't know how but it has been. They said i have something really rare and unusual. They tried to diagnose me by a process of elimination but ended up eliminating everything lol
