Nerve pain in right arm and shoulder

I broke bones in fingers and hand 8 weeks ago. This is recovering well. Immediately after the op - which went 5 hours over - and after the hand block had worn off, I felt massive nerve pain at the inside of the elbow just below the bicep. This area went numb. Within days the nerve pain appeared to run down to my wrist and this area went numb too. after 8 weeks and no improvement it has now appeared to the rear of my should and this is numbing. I find it very difficult to move my arm now because of shooting pain from shoulder to wrist My forearm sensation is now one of extreme hypersensitivety and soreness.

What could be causing this?
