Neurologist REALLLLLLLLLY Unhappy With Therapist, writes new prescription for more therapy and gave me gift

OMGosh The PA for the Neurologist was REALLLLLLLLLLLY unhappy when he found out that my therapy was stopped!!!! He said you don't just quit on a patient like she did and that the therapist was wrong for doing so. The reason why was because he said that he didn't trust what she was doing. Here's why: He said that I need more therapy and wrote a new prescription for the therapy and told me to go somewhere else for it that the therapist obviously didn't know what she was doing because from the get go, she asked me what she was supposed to do for treatment. I had to tell her exactly what to do, only one thing that the PA said was that he was against traction being used on me again. I left the office a happy camper though because I got the prescription for more therapy (he said that the therapist should know what to do, a patient shouldn't have to tell them) and the best thing of all...I GOT A TENS UNIT FOR MY NECK AND MIGRAINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D I have wanted one of these units for years and have never been able to get one because of insurance. He told me that although I have to use it on my neck twice daily that I could certainly use it other places (meaning my poor knees) so I can see some comfort there too. I left the office hooked up on the Tens Unit and rode all the way home on the buses with it attached. I had the unit clipped on an inside pocket of my purse and away I went!!! I was in HOG HEAVEN, not Heaven mind you but the hog sloppin in the wet cold mud kinda happy!!! I became familiar with the tens unit when my podiatrist would use it roughly four weeks after my surgeries to promote healing. I know what kinds of benefits that I can reap from it's use and that's why I've wanted one for so long.
I haven't yet looked at the prescription for therapy but I know that I can have 24 treatments and so this is what I'll be having. Will let you know what transpires from the new therapy treatments. He made sure to tell me too that I need to continue the exercises for the neck, NO PAIN NO GAIN were his exact words. I was in agreement because of all the times I've gotten sore from lifting weights...gotta work through some pain, not the killing off kind of pain but mild pain.
That's my report from my appt. today, thanks for reading about it and have a nice day/evening. I am always open to comments or suggestions so feel free to leave some if you would like.

My daughter put a new gas BBQ together for me 2 days ago, and accidentaly zapped herself with the electronic ignitor! She really got a charge too!! So I know what you mean about the Tens! You'll get the hang of it. I take neurontin for muscle spasms, which also helped with my headaches before the ACDF. Still haven't had any migraines since the surgery. Thank the Lord! Hopefully the PT will help you, 24 sessions should do something.  Good Luck.

I'm glad too and that he was so concerned that it had been stopped. He said for the number of treatments that I had and to have so little done is the reason why he was so angry. He wanted me to initially have it for six weeks and I can't tell what the new prescription says as far as how many weeks, only that I'm going to have 24 over a period of time. He wrote on it radiculopathy and I found out that it's a term used to describe pain and numbness when nothing else can describe it. I read something about the nerve roots being involved also.
I found out that the news about the migraine medicine isn't written in stone, one pharmacist at Walgreens hasn't heard anything about it being stopped (manufactured) so that's good news for me. I was told too that since I can't take blood pressure medicine that I would likely have to take anti seizure medications as a preventative. Why do migraines have to be so complicated when it comes to treatments? I'm just glad that I got the tens unit because I can use it during a migraine! I have to use the unit twice daily but if I have a migraine I can use it more. Let me tell you though getting zapped by the thing is not funny! I won't be letting that happen too often, it's like touching a plug when you plug it into the wall!!! :( :( :(

One other thing was that the PA told me that he doesn't want me to get discouraged and I told him that I left PT extremely discouraged and he said, "I bet! I can tell just how upset you were about it by speaking to you today."
He also told me that we have to exhaust everything before he will send me to a neurosurgeon. He said that there's a difference between herniated and bulging and when discs are herniated that there's a whole other treatment involved.
There was something else on my mind when I began this addendum but I got a phone call so it's slipped my mind, I'll have to post later if it comes to me.
