So, maybe someone here can make some suggestions as to what the #%*&(@ is going on... :)
About a month ago, my wife had what at the time we assumed was the worst migraine she'd had in over ten years. After the headache subsided, many symptoms remained, and are still present: blurriness in her left eye, numbness and occasional tingling on the left side, reduced motor control and dexterity, dry mouth, and fatigue.
These symptoms seem to be somewhat cyclical - some days are okay, other days are quite bad. Today is the worst day she's had so far; the numbness seems to be spreading (and may include some of the right side) and now she's having involuntary muscle movements, mainly on the left side, to the extent that she's thrashing about a fair bit.
She's been to two neurologists, and had a CT scan, an MRI of the brain and cervical spine, and an MRA of the brain. All of those have come back normal.
I'm waiting for a call from the neurologist now, but I'm soliciting suggestions - what the heck could this be, that it doesn't show up on any of those tests? It sounds a lot like some kind of demyelination...
She's taking Zonegran - I want to say on order 50mg a day, perhaps 100mg. She's also taking 30-some mg of Concerta.
Any thoughts? I'm really concerned.
