Over sensitive toes

For the last 3 years my 12 year old daughter has suffered bad pain in two of her toes, the same toe on each foot. She has never injured them and does not have any nail problems or ingrown nails. They get particularly sore if she looks at velvet or chalk to the point where she cries in pain. I've tried foot soaks and creams but nothing works. Has anyone else ever heard of this problem. He doctor can't figure it out.

I would suggest you visit a podiatrist. Podiatry is a specialty and often derided by M.D.'s (a podiatrist is not generally a medical doctor), however they know their stuff regarding feet and pain in the toes.

Her toes hurt more if she LOOKS at velvet or chalk??  

You didn't even say which toes.  

I agree that a podiatrist is your best bet, but you can't tell him that looking at velvet and chalk cause pain or he will think it's psychiatric.

The toes in question are the ones beside her big toes on both feet. I also suffer with the same two toes, only my problem is ingrown nails and it's not triggered by fabrics or materials.
