Personality change

by gracenote1953, Jul 04, 2009 11:21PM
My daughter had a benign brain tumor in the CPA removed recently for the second time.  Did not notice a big problem post op and her final post op check up went well (or so I hear).  Surgery was in February.  She seems to have had a personality change and it is not for the better!  I realize depression is common after brain surgery but this seems different than plain depression.  I've noted agitation, apathy, out of reality thoughts, uncharacteristic behavior (used to be sweet and quiet - now mean at times and verbally attacking)....   There is a possibility that drugs play a part in all of this as she seemed to be taking a lot of drugs post operatively and I am not sure she ever got off of them.  My biggest concern is that perhaps something is wrong physically or she suffered some sort of damage during this surgery.  Can personality changes be found with this area of brain problems?  What else comes to mind as a possible cause?  Thank you for any advice or information you can share.
