Pins and needles in fingers and toes

I am a 27 yr old white female who has pins and needle sensations in her fingers and toes almost every day. It seems to come out of no where and doesn't last long, but long enough to know it's not normal. What could be the causes? People say it's bad circulation, but what would cause that? I am active and not over weight. I also have IBS which I know can be related to nerves. I am planning on getting to the doctor soon but wanted to see if anyone had answers here. This has been going on for a few years, but I feel like it's just recently gotten worse. Please help! Looking on the Internet freaks me out!
