My father is 72 years old, he started loosing internet in going out, driving, quality of the food he eats, then we went to neurologist and made MRI on brain. The report said the following:
1-global age related cerebral involutional changes.
2-Evidence of chronic low grade white matter ischemia.
3-multiple small foci of altered signal scattered in the gangliothalamic regions bilaterally likely related to lacunar infarcts for MRI correlation with diffusion images.
4-A small focus of CSF like density involving the left centrum semiovale likely related to chronic lacunar infarcts.
Can you tell me what is he suffering from? Why is he know confused and depressed to a great extent? Is this reversible or not and what to expect to come.what medications should he take? Thanks a lot.
