I recently had lumbar discectomy of L5 (3 weeks ago tomorrow) for right leg pain and right heel numbness. The surgery worked well for the leg pain, but I am still very sore at the incision site and feel like a "dish rag" after an hour or two of activity. Is this normal? I have always been a very active person (a young 51) with a fairly physical job (critical care RN working 12 hour shifts) and am not used to feeling this way. I was also wondering if starting mild exercise may jump start my energy level again. Thank you in advance
