Pseudomeningocele from multiple LP

New to the community :) I was recently diagnosed with a pseudomeningocele of the thoratic/lumbar spine.  No previous surgeries on my back at all.  First diag was arachnoid cyst, then epidermoid cyst now pseudomeningocele.  I am scheduled for laminectomy in 2 wks to "free up trapped nerves" and to deal with pseudo.  Very scared & can't find info on my condition only of pseudo from back surgery.  Would greatly appreciate any knowledge :) thank you!!

Hmm--may be they are the cause--if the technique was not right or multiple attempts were made or even if the technique was correct the dura can be damaged.

Thank you Dr. Mathur!  the only things that I had done on my spine in the past are epidurals for childbirth & epidural steroid injection for cervical spondylosis.

Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Yes, the main cause of pseudomeningocele is a trauma caused in the duramater (covering of the spinal cord) due to surgery. However, a pseudomeningocele may also be caused by any other trauma (like an accident or sports injury) or it may be congenital.  Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
