Response to question about balabce and flagyl

I read a question about balance and parasthesia after flagyl use.
The girl's problems are directly related to the use of flagyl which
causes nueropathy, pins and needles, cns disturbances, and all
the like. I was very disappointed in the doctor's response, that
he was not aware of the side effects from such a medication, as I am
well aware for I suffered many of the same side effects myself after only 3 days
of flagyl use.I ope she makes the connection on her own. Since doctor's
are very unaware of serious side effects from the very med's the prescribe.

This discussion is related to Fluctuating paraesthesiae, gastric symptoms, balance problems, coughing clear gel like mucous.

Anyone dealing with the tingling/numbness and balance issues since taking Flagyl?  How long does this last?  It has been over a month, and although things  have improved, I'm still having chills, muscle weakness, tingling/numbness in limbs, lightheaded, memory issues, and feeling off balanced when I'm walking.

Hi I could not find the related post, but also had neuropathy, pins and needles, gastric symptoms, balance problems and so forth after use of Flagyl (for 7 days). Wrote about it a year ago in Neuro doctor's forum.  In my case it seems something else reacted with the Flagyl (viral toxin, bacterial toxin, Ciguatera... this is what doctors have said so far) and made everything much worse. One allergy specialist said Flagyl alone could have easily caused the symptoms.

How long did you suffer from the side effects after Flagyl? How do you feel now?  I suffered for about a year and a bit, now 1.5years later much better. Had a full workout on mineral/vitamin levels in my body and was low on basically everything, some kind of a malabsorption as well, which is probably why I reacted so badly in the first place.
