SHOULD I HURRY TO SEE A NEUROLOGIST

I HAD A CT SCAN FOR A HEAD INJURY 2 DYS AGO AND IT SAID I HAVE PROMINENT DURAL AND FALCINE CALCIFICATIONS WITH SMALL VESSEL ISCHEMIA . THE ER DR SAYS I SHOULD CONSULT WITH MY MD ABOUT THIS. IS THERE CAUSE FOR CONCERN. I AM 52 FEMALE WITH SOME HEAVINESS TO MY HEAD SOMETIMES WITH A DULL HEADACHE OCCASSIONALY.

The Ischemia part is why you need to make an appointment right away. It usually means that oxigen has been deprived of a specific area of the brain, which can be caused by brain injury, stroke or vascular issues. You should make an appontment with a Neurologist and have them look at the films (not just the report). He/she can make the call on what needs to be done or any followup test to see if there were any other neurological findings. Good Luck!!
