Sharp pinpoint pain in head?

Every now and then (like once a year) I get this sharp pain in one pinpoint area of my head that is intermittent and comes and goes sporadically.  It only lasts for about a day and Excedrin Migraine usually helps out. Usually the area that hurts feels like a bruise on my head and the last time it occurred this sensation was present in more than one areas of my head up to two places.  I have had a very stressful couple of days and I have attributed it to that (the present 'headache' that I have now, that is) and it seems to be a running pattern for when it happens.  The last time it happened I didn't sleep very much for anxiety of starting classes the next day.  I have visited the doctor before for 'migraines' in the past.  Such migraines have consisted of purely visual disturbances or 'aura' followed by a day of a mild-moderate DULL headache -- not the traditional migraine.  I do plan on seeing a MD about these pains but I would like some quick advice/suggestions as to what I should interpret these 'headaches' as.  Thanks

I have had the same migraines, which only started occurring after my first child 4 years ago.  It almost seems like if the fire drill lights flash or I use the computer on certain days or even driving at night I get the auras and sometimes I will get the whole visual disturbance.  It's like a flash went off and I can't see centrally.

Yesterday I developed this weird pin-point bruise feeling on my head in one spot.  I pointed it out to my husband and he said it looked like a small bruise.  I am just kind of waiting it out to see if the pain fades like a bruise or continues.  I not too concerned at this point, but if anything progresses, I will post again.

I don't know if the two symptoms are related, but I find it interesting that you are experiencing the same thing.
BTW I did get an MRI done and it was benign.

This is EXACTLY what I am experiencing. I wish that someone would reply to this thread. I'm not sure if I should panic and run to the ER, or just pop a couple of Excedrin Migraine tablets and go on about my business.
