Should I be worried?

Should I be worried?

Hi there,

I'm male, 30 years old, and I've been having headaches now for about 3 months, they come and last for 3 days to a week, then I might not have one for equally as long. The concerning part about them is that they are quite painful, and localized to the left part of my head. They tend to start near my left temple then quickly move back to the left rear part of my head. (above my left ear and continuing backward and slightly downward for 3-4 inches or so) There is also tenderness on my scalp in the same region, painful to the touch, but oddly enough keeping pressure on the area seems to help alleviate the pain of the headache. I went to my doctor initially and he said it was probably cluster or tension headaches, he prescribed me some migraine medication and sent me on my way.. I have since moved and do not have a family doctor anymore. I have been eating advil like candy lately as they are worse than ever, and is starting to affect my daily performance at work and home. I am really starting to become concerned as to the nature of them. If anyone has any idea or advice as to help with the pain, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ryan.

Are you under any stress?  Could what you are experiencing be symptoms of anxiety?
Excessive use of advil is not  a great idea.
You moved recently and are obviously concerned about your work,etc..
It reads like stress and anxiety to me but don't rule anything out.
You need a good professional to see you, run tests and guide you further.
Check your health Ins. carrier for the names of doctors in your area.
good luck

Hi, Thank you for your question. For any persistent headaches, possibilities like migrainous, cluster, tension, pinched nerve in cervical spine and refractive errors need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes. Tension headache originates with stress and anxiety disorder. Please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the further underlying disorders by clinically examine you & ordering MRI or CT scan here that may be the main reasons of your headache attacks & other symptoms and can provide you an appropriate treatment. Hope this information proves helpful to you. Take Care & Regards!!!
