Shunt

My daughter had a VP Cerebral Shunt implanted when she was 3 months old. She is 11 now. Over the last 8 years I have noticed that around the time of what seems to be a growth spurt, she gets "migraines" and usually has to throw up. They never last more than a day. I was wondering if anyone with a shunt has heard or experienced anything similar?

Hi. I do not have a shunt, but know a little about them...I know over time they may need an adjustment as they may drain too fast or too slow, become clogged...or just malfunction.

Also at age 11 she is pre-adulesent (sp?)...and this change in hormones may be affecting the amount of CSF her body is producing.

DO take her to her NL or NS to get checked.
