The room keeps spinning

by cwoodfor, Aug 02, 2009 11:14AM
My 13 yr old son has been experiencing dizziness with the room spinning when he wakes up at night.  This has been going on for months.  His pediatric doctor sent him to an ENT. The ENT gave him exercises to do this has only made the condition worse.  It has been 4 months and spinning room  sensation wakes him up throughout the night. He said that he is extremely dizzy and the room spins but it stops once he stands up.  He sleeps in an almost sitting up position and this used to help but now it doesn't He also has been having headaches throughout the day continuously. Is there a specialist that can help.  Does he need to see a Neurologist and what can be causing this?

Well since ur son was to the ENT...I am sure he checked it for inner ear issues...next u may want to see the NL to see y he has vertigo....it does sound like that.

U may want ot see if they can do MRI's of his brain and cervical spine.......

Did this just start one day or was he in a MVA or have a fall?

Also ask ur son is it worse if he sleeps on one side or the other ........
ANd how is his BP?

Keep us posted

I had vertigo which was worse on my left side.....I also had insomnia.....did he have a fall or trauma to his head?

A NL would be the next step in finding out what is going on.
