My last blood work returned information I didn't understand. I have high iron count in my blood. Though I love leafy greensGreen tea, I know that these have high Iron. How do I get rid of the iron in my blood I already have?
Go to the Red Cross and become a blood bank donor. They always need people to give a pint of blood. Do it every once in a while, and gauge it against your next labs, adjust as needed, and the iron count should go down to where it's supposed to be.
Men typically get higher iron readings after the age of 25, and it builds and builds, and some studies suggest that's what gives men heart attacks more than womenWomen's way (womenWomen's way have a monthy cycle that bleeds it out).
Hi there. There is also a medical condition called Haemochroatosis. It causes you to produce too much Iron in your blood which over time can be damaging to your internal organsOrgan-1 nr. The answer is simple, you have a pint of blood taken, in a hospital, once a month till the levels are normalNormal saline flush. After that you keep a check on it and might have to get more blood drained, but not necessarily every month. You cant donate this blood as it is tainted. Your dr will be aware of it Im sure but if not ,you might want to mention it.Other wise, congrats on your healthy diet! Cath278.

And obviously if you're taking a multivitamin with iron, switch to one without it.
