I accidentally directed my previous message to one person (the physician that had left a message previously about this topic), but I'm definitely interested in any insight anyone can provide. Thanks!
Like the original questioner, I too have twitching in the soft tissue on my face *under* one eye (in my case, the right eye). There is always mention of "eyelid twitching", but mine doesn't look like it affects the lower eyelid at all. (I mean, the soft tissue in the space on the face under the eye is considered lower than the actual eyelid, right?)
Also, just FYI, I don't feel or experience anything from the twitching; I just notice it when looking in the mirror. It makes me self-conscious, but I also wonder whether my symptom still fits the description of typical eye/eyelid twitching.
I went to the eye Dr. This afternoon and asked about the twitching. He said it was nothing to be concerned about medicallyl. I could try an antihistamine, or if it continues for a couple more weeks I could find a Dr. who could give me a shot of botox for it.
I am having the same thing! It is continuous and has been about a month. I don't drink much caffeine, or work on a computer a whole lot. Sleep hasn't helped. Should I be concerned or will it most likely stop on it's own.
Hi there. Eye twitching is an involuntary eyelid muscle contraction usually affecting the lower eyelid. It is associated with stress, high caffeine intake, fatigue, prolonged reading or working on computer. Sometimes relieved after a sleep, try warm compresses to the twitching eye and gentle massaging the eyelid. Over the counter oral or topical antihistamines may help. Since it is already about a month I would suggest that you consult an ophthalmologist for the needful. Take care.
