Unusual Muscle Fatigue?..

For the past week I have had unusual episodes of muscle fatigue in neck, shoulders, and parts of my back, as well as my arms. At first, I thought it was my blood sugar, for whatever reason, and I went to the ER because I also get light-headedness with it. They did a rainbow blood test and found nothing. I work night audit, and that is frm 11pm-7am, and my symptoms usually start at 8pm and last through at least 5 to 6 that next morning. In the day, it sometimes lets up and I don't feel it so much. Any answers?..

Sorry. I forgot to mention that my liver count was only "slightly high", and that the first time I went to ER a week ago, my doctor didn't mention anything abnormal with my liver count. In fact, he said everything looked fine.

Thank you.

Thanks so much!

I ended up going back to the ER last night, and they did more blood test, including an ekg (I think that's what it's called). Again, found nothing but slighty high liver count. I was referred to a neurologist.

Now, what I didn't mention before hand was that I have ibs, and I take Imodium AD everyday (at least 2 mg) to help me deal with it. I have been taking it now for over a year or more. Could this Imodium be causing my stool to remain stuck on the walls of my intestine, which would cause my liver to have a high count? Also, would the dehydration that Imodium causes (dry mouth) help explain my issues with my muscles?...

Thanks alot!

Hi Jay,

Thanks for writing in.

These symptoms could be related to bad posture while sitting. Make sure you sit erect and do not bend your neck too much while working and also remember to stretch after every 30-40 minutes or so.
Fatigue, anxiety and lack of sleep, low blood sugar levels and dehydration can also cause these symptoms.

I would suggest you to take it easy for the next few days do some gentle stretching exercises and eat on time, maintain your fluid and salt intake and sleep for at least 8 hrs even if it is during the day.
