Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
There are chances you are suffering from restless leg syndrome. Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by unpleasant sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable urge to move them for relief.” More information is available at: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/restless_legs/detail_restless_legs.htm
Unexplained pains sometimes the bones paining and sometimes the muscles can be due to a problem called ‘fibromyalgia’. This is associated with fatigue and “a heightened and painful response to gentle touch (allodynia), needle-like tingling of the skin, muscle aches, prolonged muscle spasms, weakness in the limbs, nerve pain, functional bowel disturbances, and chronic sleep disturbances.” “Although fibromyalgia is classified based on the presence of chronic widespread pain, pain may also be localized in areas such as the shoulders, neck, low back, hips, or other areas.” Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia
Sodium, potassium, calcium and Vitamin B12 deficiency too should be looked into.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Hi.
Thank you very much for the reply.
In addition to the muscle tension, I've been having lightheadedness for about 4 months now. It's a weak, faintish feeling that intensifies when I go from sitting to standing. I forgot to mention that my shoulders have been rigid for months now, as well. I've had an Mri of my brain and liver, which were both normal. My Vitamin D and Calcium were a little low so I've been taking supplements. The only other thing of concern on my blood work have been elevated liver enzymes, which I've had now for months on end.
The latest readings I have revealed AST: 74 IU/L and ALT: 136 IU/L. My copper levels were normal, so I assume that rules out Wilson's disease.
Do you know of any other neurological conditions/movement disorders that could cause elevated liver enzymes?
Thank you very much.
Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
The weak faintish feeling on felt on standing from sitting position is due to postural hypotension. Get your blood pressure checked in different positions—sitting, lying down, standing. Medications used to treat seizure disorders and anti psychotic drugs can cause elevated liver enzymes.
