I am a 50 year old female with slowly progressing muscle wekness and fatiguability over the past 2 years The weakness seems to affect all mucles (proximal and distal) but I have not developed any noticible muscle wasting. I have weakness in both legs but somewhat different: the right leg feels "heavy" and I am unable to lift it more than the height of 4 inches for a slight stair when walking. I cannot put it on a taller stair and pull myself up without using the assistance of the stair rails. When going down it often feels too weak to accept my weight (180, 5'8) while when walking the left lower leg tires very quickly and I develope a foot drop after walking only a few hunderd feet. My left Babinski is upgoing, right is normal. My reflexes in the knees vary from normal to 4+ without clonus. Both arms feel too heavy to lift for long driving, holding full coffee cup, comb hair, etc. I have mild facial assymetry and bilaterall eyelid droop (new) but normal head MRI, carotid US, and neg muscle antibodies, neg Lyme titer, minimal c5-6 disc changes w/o cord compression. Ideas and work up recommendations? I am about to lose my health insurance so need to proceed ASAP. Thank you
