What is the cause of my nightly nerve pain?

I am woken up twice each night, suddenly. It is almost like Im going to have a hot flash, but instead I get a searing pain, nerve pain, that starts in my wrists, and travels up my arms and across my chest. It leaves within a minute or two. It is about an 8 on the pain scale. Only once has it stayed all day, and a cold shower eased it away. I am 48, female, survivor of post transplant lymphoma and the chemo caused some nerve damage but that was 4 years ago, and this started 6 months ago. I also had a hysterectomy at that time. Estradiol and Gabapentin at the dose I am taking for hot flashes doesnt help this pain. What could be wrong? Thank you.
