Xanax and tramadol/have celiac's and frontal lobe damage /seizures

I was in a bad car accident, for 13 years I have been treated with Xanax high doses of it. As well as a wide variety trial and error anti psychotics tons of different ones. I've finally found out that I have frontal lobe damage and its causing seizures when I sleep. Heres the problem... I have celiacs disease donnatal is used to treat that. I dont take it. The tramadol helps better for the pain. Tramadol can cause or induce a seizure. I take it once a day 150 mgs. The other issue is my xanax dose is at about 16-20 mgs a day.. Over the years its climbed. The dea is not happy. My doctor's head is on a chopping block for such a high dose. The damage to my brain doesn't allow me to sleep. I usually take 8 mg xanax morning dose then 8 mg night dose. I lay in bed from 9pm till 3 am. For the fact Im told I cannot take 15 mgs of melatonin and 50 mgs of benadryl till then. So I do sleep from 3 or 4 am till 7 am. Im going for a dpi mri tonight. In 2 weeks I will get an eeg and sleep study as well. My main concern is tramadol can cause a seizure. Donnatal even though it contains pbh (phenobarbitol) says it can induce a seizure as well. Now they are trying to get me off of 16 to 20 mgs of xanax. I have to go cold turkey for 2 days till I crash the neurologist said so he can do the eeg and sleep study properly. This doesnt make sense to me. Can I mix tramadol and xanax I am already but is it safe. Then is it safe to start taking this donnatal I got prescribed today on top of all of this? should I not take the tramadol and take the Donnatal instead for my stomache? I certainly cannot stop the xanax. Ill seize for sure. Any advice would be great thanks. Josh

Why are they using a med to treat Celiacs the best and only treatment is a gluten free diet. Also has anyone done a full thyroid workup-- TSH, Free T3, T4, thyroid antibodies and a thyroid ultrasound? Also since you have Celiacs has anyone tested your B12 level (need to be near 1000-- anything under 500 can cause neurological issues) also your ferritan levels (iron storage-- this needs to be around 50 even though the ranges start at 10 that is way too low.) Also Vit D has anyone checked that my doctor likes that to be around 60 anything under that he considers low. I have to take 4000iu/day.

I hope this helps,

Also, taking high doses of melatonin(15mg) to try and sleep will stop your natural production of melatonin in your body, ultimately throwing off your sleep cycle & making it harder to fall asleep when you'd like to. Our body produces melatonin when it gets dark(night time) to make us sleep & to repair the cells in our body.  If people are going to take melatonin at bedtime to fall asleep its actually recommended (& many don't know this) to take less than 1mg. This will reduce the chance of your body stopping its own natural production of melatonin.
My best wishes to you Joshua, I hope things get better. It ***** to have to take a bunch of chemicals. Try to gradually reach toward more natural methods, I know it will be difficult but in time it is possible. The body is capable of amazing things & recovering itself if you let it do its job. Take care man.

Going cold turkey from xanax can be fatal. You need to taper off maybe a week and then do the MRI. The doc/radiologist should know this. Its not just the seizure risk by going cold turkey from xanax, its your heart & perhaps other factors that cause it to be fatal.
