MRI Report

I am 27 yrs old, I am suffering from headache since last one year which is continueous dull and always present. Some times teh pain shuts up as if somebody stabbing me. The pain is mainly located in left occipital area, mastoid area. I don't have any ear infection. since last 2 weeks my pain is very severe not relieved with painkillers. I even had developed some vision disturbances. As per ophthalmologist it is accomodation spasm. In MRI its says THERE IS WELL DEMARKETED LESION IN RIGHT INFERIOR BASAL GANGLIA MAY REPRESENT PROMINENT PERIVASCULAR SPACE. ALSO THERE MULTIPLE DEMYELINATING FOCI IN BILATERAL FRONTAL REGION. I m a known case of hypothyroidism, hypertension ( now a days my BP Systolic- 120-130 and diastolic always above 90. ), Also kindly note that i have Grade I hypertensive retinopathy changes on fundus examination. I was asthamatic for long. Got dylipedemia, obesity, altered GTT. Also, I have some musculoskeletal disorders like artritis, carpel tunnel, tenosyonovitis, fibromyalgia. I know its sounds very strange. But, this is the truth. I ma myself a doctor. I m M.B.B.S. done from India. The only thing what I want to know how I can get my headache relieved? And is there is any co-relation between my headache and MRI findings?

I have already done my neurological consultation done. As per neurologist changes in MRI report are normal. As per him there is nothing to be worried about. I am taking Toprimax afetr which also there is no relief with my pain. Now, what should I do next?

Hi,

Demyelination in the brain can be caused by many conditions like MS, postinfectious leukoencephalopathy, encephalitis and radiation injury. Since you are suffering from multiple conditions it is very difficult to pinpoint to one condition for your headache. It could be because of accommodation spasm or due to hypertension. I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with a neurologist as soon as possible and get a complete neurological examination done. Good luck!
