asymmetric reflex, facial fasc, arm weakness

Hi everyone,

I have had left shoulder and neck pain for about a year. This was accompanied by left arm weakness, tingling, and numbness. As well, for about the last year, I get an occassional facial fasciculation (twitching just below my left eye) - it is very uncomfortable and embarrassing.

About three weeks ago, I fell on a puddle of water at work and was off work for a couple of weeks related to back pain as well as an exacerbation of my left shoulder and arm symptoms. I have tried just about every muscle relaxant and now have to take Pantoloc for stomach related problems.

Last week I went to the chiropractor (as advised by my GP), who took a fairly thorough history and noted some strange findings. When he tested my left arm deep tendon reflexes, I nearly went through the roof - he commented that they were "very brisk". This was only found on the left side - the right side was all normal. As well, there is a positive Babinski (my left big toe goes up when foot is stimulated).

The chiro wants to continue treatments and then reassess. If no change, he will recommend I see a Neurologist. I am worried about these findings as well as the fact that my left arm seems to be getting worse in terms of numbness and weakness.

I am wondering if these findings warrant a request to see a Neuro or if I should wait it out.
