ativan

I have been on ativan from a .5 to 1.5 mg. for about a year. I want to get off of it cold turkey. Is that possible or an intelligent thing to do?

Hi

Ativan is a benzodiazepine medication which can cause severe withdrawal symptoms, even after short term use and using standard dosages.
Hence, anyone taking Ativan should discontinue through slow and gradual dose reduction under medical supervision.
As always, any drug withdrawal, alteration of the dose etc should be done only under expert medical supervision. You should consult your doctor and follow his advise about this.

Take Care

Regards
