burning numbness in the left thigh

my 32 yr old boyfriend is healthy in all aspects but one. he feels numbness and burning in his thigh (left) occasionally(every couple of months) . He says it feels like its asleep. No insurance. Can you tell us anything about this? Thank you much

He should start with simply removing his wallet from the back pocket. It has been known to cause numbness in the thigh due to pressure on a nerve. I know of several guys that's had this type stuff, and it's worth a try.  He should put it in his front pocket for a long while and see how it works.
